Never thought I could do this in my second language

‘Guys can we move (forward) please? There’s people want to come up.’

Wanting to help more people to get on the train, I said this loud to the carriage.

People who were in the middle of the carriage then moved. We managed to get more space to let everyone get on.

The lady and her family who got on the train at the last second turned to me and said, ‘Thank you. Thank you very much.’

‘It’s alright. No worries.’ I said.

I guess I’ve made the day very different.
