I’ll be honest – when Jack suggested he’s cooking the gammon tonight, I didn’t expect it to be this good.
The first time I saw this cuisine in my entire English life was probably when me and Jack went to The Lamb Inn, after viewing the wedding venue a couple of weeks ago. Jack ordered it and mentioned that this was one of his late granddad’s favourite.
Jack did share a bite with me at that time. I guess I was only thinking ‘it tastes just like thicker bacon’.
Well, I had to check the dictionary. Gammon is the meat taken from back leg of a pig, and it’s basically ham indeed.
Jack planned to cook the meal so he bought the ingredients when we placed the Tesco delivery order last week. I guess it doesn’t just make him think of Granddad. He’s also craving for it😆
And ta-da, the smoke gammon and fried eggs were cooked perfectly tonight. The chilly-oil cooked fried eggs are the cherry on the top for me. I enjoyed a lot.
When the plates were on the table, Jack literally devoured his one. Then he was looking at me eating and said to me: ‘It was so good. I ate too quickly and I’m now disappointed that it’s all gone🙁’
I have to agree that it was very good!
When it comes to cooking, I guess I’d never be as good as my dear fiancé, which I’m more than grateful for it.
Thanks love. I was happy to wash the dishes afterwards🤣
