One tiny issue of me joining lots of Breitling lovers’ groups on Facebook – when scrolling Facebook, I just can’t help noticing and answering people’s questions relevant to our products, especially when it comes to discontinued models that we used to offer or still selling them in our Bicester Village Outlet Boutique. In fact, this even happens when I’m off. Sometimes I do wonder why I’m willing to answer work-related questions from strangers online even when I’m not at work😂
I guess it’s my nature to help people with questions that I know answers well. This can definitely be dated back to my teaching/training job history. All my friends and colleagues know that after I “graduated” from my Taiwan➡️UK Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS, people call it UK working holiday visa, too) in 2017, my blog posts about my YMS journey have actually helped many young adults from Taiwan/Hong Kong who want to settle down in the UK.
Even for now, I’ve got a “Taiwanese in Bicester” group on LINE (a messaging app equivalent to WhatsApp that people use more often in Taiwan), in order to help YMS newbies with life and work issues in the UK, especially in Bicester. There are 185 people in the group at the moment. What I do there is answer questions and share information that I think it’s useful for people, such as renting, job opportunities, interview tips, special offers in the village, train strike info, and even exchange rate updates between TWD and GBP… etc. My role is pretty much like a consultant but for free in most cases!
Maybe I really should start charging people when they ask me for living-in-the-UK advice. The truth is, because I’m known as Teacher/Miss Aurora on my social media, it feels like I really am capable of providing this kind of service, apart from teaching Traditional Chinese and English. However, easier said than done, I do need to come up with some ideas for structuring the consulting session with fees.
All right, back to the attached photo of this post – I hope the message I left there will be informative to the guy. I’m always happy to help potential clients with sourcing our products. At the end of the day, it means better sales and reputation for our store, and my personal commission after all!
